๐Ÿ’ Step-by-Step: How We Prepared for Our Marriage in Malaysia ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐Ÿ‡พ❤️๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ท

A lot of people asked me:

“How did you get married to a foreigner (Turkish citizen) in Malaysia?”

So here it is — the full story (with love and paperwork ๐Ÿ˜‚)

---

๐Ÿข Step 1: Go to the Turkish Embassy in Kuala Lumpur ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡ท

๐Ÿ“ Location: Menara Tan & Tan, Kuala Lumpur

⏰ Level: 18th Floor

Honestly... I was SO NERVOUS ๐Ÿ˜ฐ the first time I went.

But no worries — I’ll guide you through!

๐Ÿ” Important Reminder Before You Go:

Bring your IC or passport ✅

Bring your partner’s passport ✅

You MUST have an appointment, or you can’t enter ❌

๐Ÿ–ฅ️ How to Make an Appointment:

1. Go to the official Turkish Embassy website

2. Select “Make an Appointment” (don’t worry — the website can auto-translate to English ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง)

3. Choose your service type & fill in your info

4. You’ll receive an appointment date and confirmation email

Easy, right? ๐Ÿ˜Š

๐Ÿงพ What Happens Inside the Embassy?

When you arrive:

1. Security will collect your phone ๐Ÿ“ต

2. They’ll give you a card and send you to the waiting area

3. Wait for your number to be called

Then, go to the counter and:

Submit your partner’s passport and Turkish ID (Kimlik Card)

Request the “Certificate of No Impediment” (Sijil Bujang / Single Status Cert)

๐Ÿ’ต Fee: Around RM84 (please double-check)

After you receive the 1-page certificate, you’re ready for the next step!

---

๐ŸŒ Step 2: Register on the e-Munakahat Website ๐Ÿ’ป

For those getting married in Pahang, you must register at:

๐Ÿ”— e-Munakahat Website (auto-translate works!)

๐Ÿ“ Fill out all the required forms, including:

Personal details (for both parties)

Marriage location

Witness info, etc.

๐Ÿ“„ Then, print out the completed form and prepare these supporting documents:

Copies of IC/passport (both)

The certificate from the Turkish Embassy

Photos

And any other requested files

Make sure everything is clear and neatly compiled ๐Ÿ“š

---

๐Ÿ›‚ Step 3: Get Kebenaran Berkahwin at Immigration

Before you can proceed to Jabatan Agama Islam, you MUST go to Immigration to apply for:

✅ Permission to Marry a Foreigner (Kebenaran Berkahwin Bagi Bukan Warganegara)

๐Ÿ—‚️ Bring all the compiled documents (with embassy cert too!)

Once approved, you're almost there ๐Ÿฅน

---

๐Ÿ—“️ Timeline Breakdown (Approximate):

๐Ÿ“ Embassy Appointment: 1 day

๐Ÿ“ Immigration Process: 3 days

๐Ÿ“ Jabatan Agama Islam: 3 days

✅ Once everything is approved, you’ll receive the final document (Catatan Nikah) to bring on your actual wedding day!

---

๐Ÿ“Œ Coming Soon...

In my next post, I’ll share: ๐Ÿ“‹ Actual forms used

๐Ÿ“ธ Sample screenshots from e-Munakahat

๐Ÿ• The time & order to do each thing

… and cute tips to make it smooth (even if your partner can’t speak Malay or English!)

✨ I hope this post helps any Malaysian out there who’s planning to marry their foreign soulmate ๐Ÿฅฐ

If you have any questions — drop them in the comments!

I’ll try my best to guide you ๐Ÿ’Œ
